Hello Simmiles!
Another month has passed and we are pleased to share our results with all of you. The month of July has been an eventful one for all of us here at the Singapore Virtual Airlines Group. In the month of July, we had a management reshuffle and the addition of one member to the executive staff. Delwyn Tan has been appointed Director of Finance of the Singapore Virtual Airlines Group, and is in-charge of managing the stocks and assets of the Group. He also holds a second appointment as the Deputy Managing Director of our Tiger Airways Virtual division. Lim Jian Hong, Director of Human Resources of the Singapore Virtual Airlines Group, has also received his second appointment as Managing Director of our Tiger Airways Virtual division. In allocating more staff members to Tiger Airways Virtual, we hope to give more attention to its development.
Pilots of the Singapore Virtual Airlines Group have also participated in 2 major events on the VATSIM network. The Eastern Winds 2010, which saw all ATCs of Asia coming online together at the same time over a single weekend, was a blast for our pilots. Having ATC coverage over such a large airspace all over Asia was a great opportunity for our pilots to gain experience in event-flying, and to learn how to cope in busy airports. Our pilots thoroughly enjoyed this major event of the year in Asia, and all participating pilots have been given incentives for their involvement. vACC Philippines have also organised an event, titled Lipad Haring Agilia, and invited the Singapore Virtual Airlines Group to participate. Some of our pilots did some domestic flights, while others flew between Philippines and Singapore, and showed our support for vACC Philippines in their awesome event.
However, we are extremely disheartened to see Mr Ean Hannah, CEO of Emirates Virtual, leave Simmiles and his VA. After all, he did promise us some competition here in Singapore, which we have yet to see, and have been longing to see. His departure from Simmiles is such a great blow to us here at the Singapore Virtual Airlines Group, for we have lost such a hardworking competitor, who always tries so hard to pose a threat to the Singapore Virtual Airlines Group, and who always tries so hard in his recruitment of staff & pilots. We feel sorry for his problems in logging his VA’s flights, which surprisingly do not happen to the rest of us here. Emirates Virtual had such a wonderful CEO who always tried hard to gain support from his pilots, and we are sad to see such a talented CEO go. Here we wish him all the best in changing his simulation rate in FS back to 1x.
