Singapore Virtual Undergoes Fleet Renewal

Greetings!

Singapore Virtual has purchased 2 Airbus A330-300 widebody aircraft, in preparation for our progressive fleet renewal programme starting 28th March. The Airbus A330-300s will be replacing the older Boeing 777-200s on some of our operations to the Middle East and the Maldives. We will be adopting a progressive approach to keep up with real world Singapore Airlines’ fleet renewal programme.

From 28th March, Singapore Virtual will be serving Zurich on the Airbus A380-800 instead of the usual B777-300ER, by using a spare slot on one of our A380-800 aircraft, without a need to buy a new one. Singapore-Abu Dhabi-Kuwait, Singapore-Abu Dhabi-Jeddah and Singapore-Male will also be served by our new A330-300s, instead of the Boeing 777-200s. These changes are aimed at keeping in line with real world Singapore Airlines, who will also be implementing these changes on 28th March 2010. These changes will also see Singapore Virtual doing a restructuring of its fleet, with the decommissioning of 3 older Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

On a side note, Singapore Virtual would like to welcome the new management team of Star Alliance codeshare partner, Air Canada Virtual, and we wish Air Canada Virtual a promising future ahead.

Singapore Cargo Virtual has also started making its first sign of profits, just within its first week of operations, and we are glad that our profits have been significant and consistent throughout the year across the parent company Singapore Virtual and our 2 subsidiaries, Silkair Virtual and Singapore Cargo Virtual, thanks to the support of our committed pilots.
