Philippine Airlines, Fleet and Route Expansion

Author: admin  |  Category: Uncategorized

Philippine Airlines Virtual (PALv), has launched new flights and introduced new aircraft to its fleet over the past few days. Coinciding with Philippine Airlines launch of its second Boeing 777-300ER (Boeing 777-36NER/RP-C7776), PALv has launched new direct 777 flights from Manila to Sydney and Melbourne, in the coming days we will be restructuring our Australian flights with these new 777 aircraft, which will mean the introduction of PAL’s new Manila-Melbourne-Brisbane-Manila triangle route, which is expected to be flown with the Airbus A330-300, this new Manila-Brisbane via Melbourne flight will be launched in a couple of days.

Philippine Airlines Virtual has also introduced new flights with the Boeing 747-400 (RP-C7471) to Riyadh, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this is the first middle eastern flight flown by PAL for years, and can be flown now onboard RP-C7471. We expect to update regional flights and frequencies to Singapore and Japan thanks to the freed up frequencies of our Airbus A330-300 fleet due to the capacity increase from the introduction of the Boeing 777-300ER to our fleet. Remember to view our News Section on the Website for continous updates on the airline, as well as our messageboards.

We also hope you can visit the new vACC Vatsim Philippines website, thanks to the guys for that!

Singapore Airlines Cargo Virtual Opens Its Doors

Author: admin  |  Category: Uncategorized

Dear Members,

Singapore Airlines Cargo Virtual is proud to the first of its kind here on Simmiles, as a subsidiary of mainstream Singapore Airlines Virtual. The cargo division will run as a separate entity with separate statistics from the mainstream carrier. We currently own a fleet of 9 Boeing 747-400F freighters, which we will use for our North American, European, African and Middle East operations. The European market will be our focus for now, with our secondary hubs in Brussels and Sharjah, where we will base some of our operations.

Unlike normal passenger flights, a cargo flight does quite a number of hops around the world before returning back to base. Such a system would allow our pilots to gain more exposure in flying in foreign territories, where we have to step out of our comfort zone and be familiar with other airports and airspace. Our pilots strongly welcome this new cargo division, and there is support from them to expand our operations, and establish the Singapore Virtual brand as a strong one, here on the Simmiles network.

Singapore Virtual and its subsidiaries, Silkair and Singapore Airlines Cargo, are very open to partnerships with other Virtual Airlines, and we look forward to establish a lasting partnership with interested Virtual Airline partners. Singapore Airlines Cargo is part of the WOW network in the real world, which is a cargo alliance between SAS Cargo, JAL Cargo and SIA Cargo. Should SASv and JALv decide to open cargo divisions, we are very much open for negotiations for a cargo partnership, which benefits all involved.

Singapore Virtual would like to thank all its pilots for their support for the past 1 year of operations, and we cannot thank them enough for bringing us this far. Our pilots have been a very great team, and it has shown us how our active and motivated human resource has established us as one of the leading Virtual Airlines on Simmiles.

Warmest Regards,
Lester Lee
Operations Manager

Singapore Virtual and Air Canada Virtual embarks on Star Alliance partnership

Author: admin  |  Category: Uncategorized

Dear Members,

Starting today, Singapore Virtual and Air Canada Virtual have launched a Star Alliance partnership here on the Simmiles network. This partnership will see both Virtual Airlines simulating the codeshares of real world Singapore Airlines and Air Canada, where Singapore Airlines covers flights from Singapore to Europe, Australia and North East Asia for Air Canada, and Air Canada covers some trans-Pacific from North East Asia and trans-Atlantic flights from Europe for Singapore Airlines.

Our first step would be to establish a codeshare on the Singapore-London-Toronto route, where we see potential and growth, and strong activity in both our VAs. Singapore Virtual will be covering Singapore-London and London-Singapore with Air Canada Virtual holding 35%, while Air Canada will cover London-Toronto and Toronto-London with Singapore Virtual holding 40%. More agreements are to come, such as Singapore-Hong Kong-Vancouver, should activity increases.

In the long run, we hope to involve all Star Alliance Virtual Airlines here on Simmiles, such as Air New Zealand Virtual, and establish an extensive Star Alliance codeshare agreement on the network, which simulates the strong partnership between our real world counterparts. And on top of that, motivation of pilots from all parties is very important, to ensure that they commit and keep up with the codeshare operations, where all 3 Virtual Airlines will benefit and prosper.

Welcome to the new Korean Air Virtual

Author: admin  |  Category: Uncategorized

Welcome to the home of Korean Air Virtual. Korean Air Virtual is a VIRTUAL AIRLINE for users of FS2004 (FS9) or FSX. Simulating the operations of Korean Air, our philosophy is to ensure realism, as much as is possible within the confines of Flight Simulator.

Routes may seem a little sparse to begin with, but I hope to have many more flights set up for all to enjoy in the near future.

SimMiles Second Year Anniversary

Author: admin  |  Category: Uncategorized

SimMiles opened it’s doors for VA business on January 3rd 2008.  Since then the community has grown exponentially to over 40 active virtual airlines.   The system has made many improvements to the PIREP system and the flight tracker.  Within the past 730 days (2 years) a total of 15, 484 flight have been completed in total by over 50 virtual airlines on the system.  The SimMiles online flying and flight simulation network has been online since February of 2009 and has seen a total of 1,620 flights completed.

I would like to extend my graditude to everyone that has participated in making these past 2 years successful from the people that help SimMiles running on a day to day basis to the pilots that fly with virtual airlines on a regular basis.  SimMiles has become a reliable, quality, and important VA PIREP system.  Several improvements have been made to the PIREP system in the past year that include news feeds, code sharing, seating configuration layouts for aircraft, more automated Pilot Application system and a much more reliable online flight tracker.

As we go into the new year we will be continuing to make improvements and add features to the PIREP system to keep it updated, practical and user friendly.  There will also be additional pages added to the main SimMiles website manual to reflect the changes to the PIREP system.  The previous rules and procedures will also be revised and updated to make operations more organized.  I hope that everyone had wonderful holidays and that the success of SimMiles will continue as we continue to develop it and make it the best possible for all users.

Sincerely,

Tony Kovacs

SimMiles President and CEO

Air New Zealand Virtual Airlines on the rise!

Author: admin  |  Category: Uncategorized

In recent weeks Air New Zealand Virtual Airlines has seen a steady increase in pilot applications and activity.  There are more pilots flying for Air New Zealand Virtual Airlines then ever before and the VA has been quite successful.  Recently our virtual airline took delivery of a brand new Boeing 777-200ER aircraft which went into service on the Auckland-Vancouver route on flights ANZ10 and ANZ11 respectively.

Within the next short while Air New Zealand will start retiring the older 747-400 fleet which has server the virtual airline well with the newer Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.  Within the span of 18 months Air New Zealand Virtual Airlines has completed over 700 flights which comes out to an average of about 2 flights each day.  The Air New Zealand Link operation has also been explanded with new B1900 and ATR72-500 aircraft that operate domestically and feed our major hubs in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

We hope that our success will carry on into 2010 as we celebrate the new year and continue to hope for continued success throughout this year.  We also have new aircraft repaints for FSX including the ATR72-500 and Dash-8-300 aircraft in Air New Zealand Link livery for freeware.  The FSX Airbus A320 and Boeing 747-400 aircraft are also now available.
