Online Flight Tracker for Virtual Airlines using Flight Simulator
Virtual Airlines use flight trackers such as the SimMiles Flight Tracker to ensure that pilots complete their assigned flights. This flight tracking system tracks the pilot’s flight while they are online and connected to the VATSIM Network. This flight tracker will only work with while a pilot is flying their flight on the VATSIM Network.
To make things very simple our flight tracker is designed to be easy to use and to work with other flight tracking software. The flight tracker system is installed and applied to a Virtual Airline’s web site. After a pilot log’s in they are directed to an operations page where they can select their next flight. Then before going to the flight tracker page the pilot will be directed to the dispatch page where they must confirm their flight’s details. Once they confirm these details they will be forwarded to the flight tracker page.
Once a pilot is on the flight tracker page they can connect to the VATSIM Network using the exact same call sign, departure airport and flight plan as what they filed. After connected it should take a couple of minutes for the flight tracker to find their flight. Once the flight tracker finds your flight it will give the welcome and safety announcement.
During the flight the flight tracker will continuously update the status of your flight. At the end of the flight the flight tracker page will provide you with a submit button to submit your flight. If your flight arrives early then the flight tracker will make you wait at the airport before being allowed to submit the flight. Once you have submitted your flight on the flight tracker page the flight will automatically verify your flight, provide the virtual airline with the profit, and it will update your hours. This PIREP system automatically assigns the scheduled flight time as the amount of time added to your pilot log.
Additional features about the flight tracker are that it provides announcements throughout the flight, the flight tracker also tracks the on time performance of the flight. The flight tracker continuously provides information about the speed, altitude and distance form the destination. The flight tracker also assigns scheduled departure and arrival times based on the time that a flight is dispatched. Our flight tracker is designed to be an all in one PIREP solution for virtual airlines. In addition, your virtual airline is interconnected to all of the other member virtual airlines and all of these virtual airlines use the same flight tracker. Our flight tracker has been extensively tested and we are planning to continuously make upgrades to the flight tracker.
