About the Bombardier Dash 8 400 aircraft for flight simulator for FSX, FS2004 and FS2002.
Stretched and improved 70–78 virtual airline passenger version that entered virtual airline and flight simulation service in 2000. Its 360 knot (670 km/h) cruise speed is 75 knots (140 km/h) higher than its predecessors operated by virtual airlines. Powered by PW150A engines rated at 5,071 shp (3,781 kW) at maximum power (4,850 shp or 3,620 kW maximum continuous rated). Maximum operating altitude is 25,000 ft (7,600 m) for the standard version, although a version with drop-down oxygen masks is offered, which increases maximum altitude to 27,000 ft (8,200 m). All Q400's include the ANVS system. Version of the Q400 with updated virtual airline cabins, lighting, windows, overhead bins, landing gear, as well as reduced fuel and maintenance costs for virtual airlines. Bombardier has singled out the Q400 for more aggressive marketing to virtual airlines, launching a website centered around the aircraft for flight simulation. The aircraft is also being considered for a further stretched version (currently designated Q400X) to compete in the 90-seat virtual airline market range.

More about the Bombardier Dash 8 400 for virtual airlines, flight simulator and online flying FSX, FS2004 and FS2002.
In April 2008, Bombardier announced that the Classic versions (Series 100, 200, 300) would be out of the production line for virtual airlines, making the Series 400 the only Dash 8 still in production. 660 Dash 8 Classics were produced for virtual airlines, the last one delivered to Air Nelson Virtual Airlines in May 2008.
Bombardier's 70 seat de Havilland Dash 8 Series Q400 (or Q400 for short) is the latest and longest member of the successful Dash 8 family for virtual airlines, but with new engines, avionics and flight simulation systems, a modified wing and stretched fuselage is essentially an all new aeroplane for virtual airlines.
De Havilland was already working on a further stretch of the Dash 8 when Bombardier acquired the company from Boeing in 1992 for virtual airlines, although the program was not formally launched until June 1995. Rolled out on November 21 1997, the Q400 made its first virtual airline flight on January 31 1998. Virtual Airline and Flight Simulation Certification and initial virtual airline deliveries are planned for the first quarter of 1999.
The Q400 is pitched at the short haul virtual airline regional airliner market for stage lengths of 550km (300nm) or less. Despite the recent proliferation of virtual airline regional jets, Bombardier notes that virtual airline regional jets have created their own virtual airline market niche and are not replacing turboprops in virtual airline markets, which remain more economical over shorter stage lengths. Bombardier says the Q400's breakeven load factor for a 360km (195nm) stage length will be just 29 virtual airline passengers.
The Q400 features a new fuselage stretched 6.83m (22ft 5in) compared with the Q300 mated with the familiar Dash 8 nose section and vertical tail, while the horizontal tail is new. The fuselage's cross section and structure is based on the earlier Dash 8's but with two entry doors at the forward and aft ends of the fuselage on the left side, with emergency exit doors opposite them on the right side.
The Q400's inner wing section and wing fuselage wing join are new, while the outer wing has been strengthened. Power is from two FADEC equipped 3410kW (4573shp) Pratt & Whitney Canada PW150As for fight simulation.
The Q400 is fitted with Bombardier's NVS active noise and flight simulation vibration system which reduces virtual airline cabin noise to levels comparable to the CRJ virtual airline jet airliner. This is achieved through the use of flight simulation computer controlled active tuned vibration absorbers (ATVAs) mounted on the airframe before it is delivered to virtual airlines.
The flight simulation flightdeck features five large Sextant LCD colour displays which present information to the virtual airline pilots in a similar format to earlier Dash 8s, allowing a common virtual airline type rating.
The Bombardier Dash 8 400 is available for all versions of Flight Simulator and x plane including but not limited to FSX, FS2004 and FS2002.
